The incredible Lauryn Mayer and her students not only sent me copies of the poster for my recent presentation on "The Afterlives of Beowulf and the Wife of Bath" at Washington & Jefferson College, but they all included comments and signed the back of the posters. Most touching element: Many of them thanked ME for taking the time to come and speak with THEM. In fact, of course, I am the one grateful to engage with THEM on the subjects I love. And they asked really smart and thought-provoking questions, too. A good day in the academy.
