Welcome to the Fall 2020 season of Poetry@Tech. Ilya and I hope your summer has been grand(-ish) and that you and yours are thriving. Each year when the days and nights begin to cool (if only a little), that’s an indicator that P@T is set to begin, and I get excited to share with you what we’ve been working on. This time around, for the health and safety of everyone, this season is going to look just a bit different. We’re going online for virtual events, but I can promise you the same spirit of P@T as ever before—the same commitment to the craft of poetry and its inherent ability to bring people together and allow us to celebrate our shared “human-ness.” And, of course, as always, all our readings are free and open to the public.
So please join us on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 7pm for our Bourne Poetry Reading, featuring a double headliner event with two dynamic and award-winning poets, ROSS GAY and DANEZ SMITH. For more about the poets, click on https://poetry.gatech.edu/events. The reading begins at 7pm, but our virtual doors open at 6:45pm.
Join us from your living room, front porch, office, or wherever, in your pajamas or your business attire. For many of you who have been unable to attend P@T events in the past due to distance or geography, we hope our new online readings this season will give you a chance to be with us.
Joining the reading is easy, and you’ve got options. Just choose the one that works best for you. This information will also be available on the Poetry@Tech Website at www.poetry.gatech.edu.
