Today marked our college's inaugural (independent) Master's Commencement, conducted following the general Georgia Tech Master's Commencement. During our more intimate ceremony, every student had the opportunity to 'walk' and hear their name announced, with friends and family watching (plus an international audience following our live stream). We nearly filled all of the 380 chairs we set up! Incredibly grateful to our fantastic Ivan Allen College staff team for preparing and then carrying through this complex event with guests from many different countries, in Georgia Tech's Exhibition Hall!
Dayana Alagirova was our commencement speaker: Dayana is a Fulbright Scholar and a Graduate Research Assistant receiving her MS in International Security with a focus on space policy and security. She is passionate about understanding the implications of the militarization of space. She conducts research and analysis on Russian space policy and foreign policy decision-making processes, using various tools and methods such as databases, focus groups, and psychographic analysis. She was previously a Research Assistant at Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
